Building a list of subscribers is a very lucrative way to make money on the Internet but how do you do it? Well there is more to list building than just putting an opt-in form on your web site and asking your visitors to give you their email address.
Incentivize
To get your visitors to subscribe to your email list you need to offer them an incentive. The incentive doesn’t always have to be free but it’s usually the easiest way forward. You probably would think that if you give away a free report or newsletter then everyone who visits will subscribe right? Unfortunately no.
You need to sell the free offer just as if it were something you were asking money for. Informing the reader about the benefits of your free offer is very important and these should be stated in your headline near your opt-in box and in bullet points below that.
Your first step is to come up with a highly valuable product to give to your target audience; this is the time to wow them! Imagine if you give away a free offer that helps your subscribers so much that they write to you and say thanks! Not only is that going to be a great feeling but also you will have built trust with them. Further down the track when you write to your list members to recommend a product to them they are more likely to trust your opinion and make a purchase.
List building really is easy if you’re willing to give away something of high value in exchange for your subscriber’s email address. The next question of course is what to give away.
Genuine Value
If your target market is interested in anti-aging then you could create a ten-week e-course on ways to slow down the aging process. Your headline could be something like “Slow Down The Aging Process – Enroll In Our FREE 10 Week E-course Now!”
You don’t have to wait until you’ve written ten weeks worth of content either, you can simply get one article written ready to send out to all your new subscribers and then research and write the following week’s article before week one expires!
The most important part of list building is giving your subscribers information that can genuinely help them and is good value, that way they will stay on your list and you can recommend products to them that can make you a great income.
