eBay is popular and there is good reason! Not only can you make money on eBay selling goods but you can save money by shopping there too. Let’s focus on how to make money on eBay for the first time.
Treasure Trove
First off take a look around you, I’m sure you will see some of your belongings that you don’t actually use anymore that you could sell. If you can’t see anything close by then take a look in your closet, garage and all those kitchen cupboards you rarely open up. It’s not until we start taking a good look around that we discover a whole treasure trove of ‘stuff’ that we store for no good reason.
If you’ve been stock piling and holding on to things you don’t use then you have a great opportunity to make money by selling some of your less used goods. Of course there is no need to sell your champagne glasses you use only a few times a year but how about all those bowls, empty photo albums you’ll never use and books you don’t use at all?
Consolidate
Go through each room and create a pile of things you are happy to sell on eBay. Once you’re done consolidating everything you can take photos of related items and start listing them. For example, take images of all your books and then start listing them. By grouping your listings you’ll have more chance of selling multiple items to each customer. Offering combined packaging will entice buyers to consider your other items too so be sure to offer that. Combined purchases makes your life easier once it comes time to pack and send the parcels as you’re dealing with fewer customers, envelopes and postage trips.
Keeping in Stock
Once you’ve cleaned out your house why not offer to sell unwanted goods for you friends, family and neighbours for a percentage share of the sale price? This is one way of ‘keeping in stock’. Failing that, you can start shopping around at op shops and garage sales for low priced goods you can clean up and list on eBay with the aim of selling them for a profit.
Go Digital
eBay is an excellent marketplace to sell your household goods but you could also venture into selling digital goods with a hard copy sent in the mail.
