Online Earn Money

One thing is for certain, if I want to make money online from my blogs that won’t happen without blog traffic. There are lots of different ways to get traffic to my blog but to know which ways work best is critical. So today I’m writing about how to discover where traffic comes from to my sites or yours if you decided to follow along and create a money making blog.

Google offer some fantastic free tools to help track where your blog traffic comes from, what it does when it gets there and many other reporting features. So I’ve added a thing called Google Analytics to my test site and it really was easy. I already have an account with Google but if you don’t and you want to get one then it’s pretty simple and best of all it’s free.

To get analytics set up you can go to your Google account where specific html code is automatically generated and is then placed on your site. I’ve now added Google analytics to my test site and soon enough I will be able to generate reports that tell me lots of detailed information to understand how the site is going. The other thing Goolge has are what they call Webmaster tools, which offer lots of other ways to analyse blog traffic, crawl stats and even where the site ranks for certain keywords, this all available from one easy to use Google account, did I mention it’s all free!

So this is all still pretty unexciting hey. Not much happening but these things do take time and when you’re juggling a family and life in general it can be a challenge to tick off all these not so fun boxes. The problem is that if my test site isn’t set up in the best way possible right from the start then I’ll be chasing my tail in the long run. It’s really important I get these initial stages correct so I can see the results of my hard work.

My next post will hopefully share that my money making blog is indexed and that I actually have some blog traffic. I’ll fill you in on all the details of my traffic generation plan and how I intend to turn that traffic into dollars.
