Online Earn Money

Ok, so I have my domain name and idea of what I’m going to be blogging about for my ‘blogging for money’ experiment site. I now need to get that domain up and live on the web as blog money doesn’t arrive without a site set up of course! I’ve told my domain provider where to point the domain name to, better known as changing the nameservers. So what’s next?

It has taken quite a few days for the domain to ‘arrive’ at my web host provider but it’s finally happened. The next step is to set my domain name up on a Wordpress blog. There are many free Wordpress themes so I set out to find one that I think will fit with my future blog money making methods.

My host provider allows me access to my account files and domains via what’s known as the cpanel, or control panel. There is a little icon in the cpanel called Fantastico, and it really is fantastic! Fantastico easily allows me to whip up a Wordpress site installation in less than a few minutes. I had to learn some tricky stuff early on about FTP. FTP is short for file transfer protocol, and all that means is getting ’stuff’ off your computer and putting it into your host providers cpanel where you can show that ’stuff’ on the web for the world to see. There are plenty of free FTP systems on the web you can download.

So I feel that one day I will see some blog money coming my way but at this early stage of the game I need to stay focussed on the little steps to get me there! I’ve downloaded my Wordpress theme and then used the FTP system to place that theme in my control panel. From there I was easily able to install it using Fantastico and the easily navigated Admin area of my Wordpress blog.

So my site is ready to go, waiting for me to add some valuable content for all the world to read. One last thing I must do though is create my very own header or banner for the site. I chose a theme that I can easily change this with and I have a thing about pretty pictures. So I will spend a few hours on a header and place that in my new blog.

This is all pretty unexciting I guess at this stage given the attainment of the blog money seems so far into the future but I have faith in the system I’ve chosen and know that within a few short months I could have my car payments taken car of by this one little blog.
